Maybe your beginning to think you may need a little help when it comes to reaching your health and fitness goals for the new year. Many people find both enjoyment and more importantly, motivation through using various forms of technology when exercising. Whether it's downloading fitness apps on your iPhone, tracking your fitness data via your iPad, working out on the Koko Smartrainer or using your Nike+, the bottom line for most is that it helps create stickiness with technology and exercise.
The Consumer Electronic Association, in their study, Getting Fit With Consumer Electronics, found 37% of the people surveyed said they will purchase a fitness electronics product in the next 12 months. "According to the study, 54% of consumers cite lack of motivation as the main reason not to exercise. The study also found 76% exercise alone without the guidance of exercise professionals, and 74% of consumers exercise at home. Fitness technologies can help these consumers assess their fitness level; set realistic, achievable goals; track the amount of physical activity they get each day; monitor their calorie intake; track progress on fitness goals; and ultimately help make the journey more fun and engaging." Sounds like a few good reasons why you may want to get on board this fitness technology train, especially if your having trouble getting or staying motivated to exercise consistently.
